While in High School, I had the great privilege of experiencing Life Teen with Scott Bagshaw as my Youth Minister. Through his program, I developed a personal relationship with Jesus that changed my life forever. Because of Scott’s witness, it became clear that the Lord was calling me into ministry.

After High School, I joined Scott’s volunteer Core Team and became his part-time intern, where he guided me through the fundamentals of a strong youth ministry program. He taught me how to work alongside church staff, build and lead a Core Team, communicate with parents, align ministry with the vision of a Pastor, and, most importantly, lead teens to Christ.

When I eventually moved on to run my own youth ministry program, so much of its success was due to the lessons and foundations he taught me to build. Scott was my mentor, a dear friend, and a guide on my own spiritual journey. His training and support were crucial to my success in ministry, and I remain deeply grateful to Scott for it all.

Scott Bagshaw could have excelled in many different fields, and I am so grateful that he has dedicated his life to building up the Body of Christ. His impact on my family is impossible to calculate. He has a youthful spirit and has always been able to connect well with young people, but is respected across the board. He doesn't take himself too seriously, but is 100% professional when the occasion demands. He is a team player and a fantastic leader, knowing how to encourage, challenge, and develop talent in others.

Scott is an incredible resource that youth ministry desperately needs. When I was a teen, his energy and passion was evident. He helped foster the seed of faith inside me and created an environment where my peers and I could grow in knowledge and love of the Lord.

Years later, I was able to work as a volunteer under his leadership. It provided the inside view of the depth and specificity he placed into cultivating every minute he had with the teens to bring them to the Lord. His faith, creativity, knowledge, and leadership created a foundation other adults could easily follow. Without Scott, I never would have become a music director at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
